The
Stevens Amendment is a federal law enacted in 1991 that requires funding
information to be included on all publications related to projects using
federal funds. This information must appear on all significant
publications and documents prepared or printed with NCLB funds.
The statement must be on documents such as curriculums, district newsletters,
student newsletters, published student project reports, or on a label
on an oral history recording, etc. The amount listed should be
the cost of the document itemized by the amount from each NCLB Title
project that funded the publication. If local funds are used in
cooperation with the title project(s), both amounts must
be shown. The statement must include:
- the dollar amount of federal funds for the project;
- the percentage of the total cost of the project that will be financed with federal funds;
- the percentage and dollar amount of the total cost of the project that will be financed by non-governmental sources.
